Check out this cool water system we saw during the pre-tour.
When I was growing up my family had a farm and we left the big city of New Iberia to go to the farm in Garland every weekend. Mostly to work. I had to clean out the chicken coops. Big terrible job. The chickens just kept s%$#ing so when my uncle came to inspect my work he'd act like I hadn't finished the job. Hated that job.
We had a cistern for drinking water and the water was delicious. I wonder if this water system pictured is purified enough to drink?
The farm also had an outhouse until I was 10 years old. I'm thinking that farm wasn't as great as I remember - delicious drinking water or not.
We're at the Sanders garden, our first stop. Great yard, pool, but especially pavilion with cooking area, fireplace and TV. The furniture was just asking for someone to curl up and take a nap.
One of the artists on the tour next Sunday will be wearing these FABULOUS designer shoes. Look for all the artists in the gardens on the tour. They may not have her FABULOUS shoes, but they will have FABULOUS art for sale.
Sunday, May 22 from 11:00 to 5:00
